Visit the Lifeboat Station, the Lighthouse Pottery or the antique & craft shops.
Have a drink or a meal on the terrace of one of the harbour-side pubs or hotels, while watching the boats coming and going.
From the harbour you can take a boat trip, go waterski-ing or sailing.
There is sea and loch fishing available for enthusiast or novice.
Trekkers are particularly well catered for, whether on two feet or four!
Portpatrick is at the western end of the Southern Upland Way (long distance coast-to-coast walk) and there are also many less-challenging rambles to be had near the village.
Horse riding and pony trekking are also available nearby and can be arranged by the hour as required.
Fabulous sandy beaches and many beautiful Gardens to visit within easy reach.
Stranraer (8 miles) is the nearest shopping town and is the terminal for rail and ferry travellers.There are 2 leisure parks with play areas, promenade and boating pond.

The Mull of Galloway, to the south of Portpatrick, is home to several attractions, including Scotlands most southerly point & RSPB bird reserve. Not to be missed are the sub tropical splendours of Logan Botanic Gardens, and the woodland walks at Ardwell Gardens.
Truly unique is the coastal fish larder at Logan Fish Pond and Marine Life Centre where several generations of children have returned to hand feed the fish.
You are also only a short drive away from Wigtown Book Town - Scotland's' National Book Town, with a plethora of book shops catering to all tastes.
Also worth a visit is the nearby Bladnoch Distillery visitor centre, where you can see Scotland's most southerly whisky being produced.
